Signaling Technology Adoption in China, LoRa Alliance Returns to MWC Shanghai

As the end of the month grows near, companies around the globe eagerly prepare for Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2018 (MWC Shanghai), from June 27 to June 29. 

With more than 550 exhibitors and over 60,000 attendees, MWC Shanghai is the year’s must-attend event in China for networking opportunities and access to exclusive product demos relating to artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT), as well as products from the automotive and consumer device industries.

The LoRa Technology Ecosystem at #MWC18

Semtech will join Orbiwise, STMicroelectronics and IoTCAN as co-sponsors of the Demo Zone in the LoRa Alliance® booth in Hall N1 Stand N1.B65 which will showcase and demonstrate a wide range of market-ready LoRaWAN-based devices, products and solutions.

Semtech will demo a LoRaWAN®-enabled LED street light display and a LoRaWAN-based smart lighting system that reduces energy, maintenance and asset management costs, while significantly enhancing public safety.


IoT in China

China has experienced many developments in IoT over the past few years, especially centered around Semtech’s LoRa® devices and wireless radio frequency technology (LoRa Technology).

“The adoption of LoRa Technology has grown exponentially in Asia, with LoRaWAN networks in 40 Chinese cities and increased deployments including smart meters, parking sensors and air-quality monitoring sensors,” said Marc Pegulu, Vice President and General Manager of Semtech’s Wireless and Sensing Products Group.
